Ideas on where to obtain funding
SUSTAIN OUR GREAT LAKES FUND & WORKSHOP
Hosted by ArcelorMittal Dofasco, there is an upcoming Webinar & Workshop which will help organizations learn more about new funding opportunities through the Sustain Our Great Lakes grants program.
The Sustain Our Great Lakes program is a unique bi-national, public/private partnership that works to restore, protect and preserve the fragile habitats and ecosystems that form the world’s largest freshwater system.
Sustain Our Great Lakes provides grants to non-profit organizations, Canadian federal government departments, provincial and local governments, tribes and educational institutions working to improve the health of the Great Lakes basin. The program supports habitat restoration and protection, invasive species control, water quality improvements, and watershed planning and management.
By holding a workshop in Hamilton, it is hoped that more local organizations will receive grants in this year’s program.
Workshop participants will learn more about funding priorities and the application process, receive guidance on how to submit competitive proposals, and have the opportunity to ask questions. The new
Requests for Proposals will be available on August 14 at www.sustainourgreatlakes.org.

ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION'S ENVIRONMENTAL FUTURE FUND
The Future Fund invests in existing environmental organizations so they can partner in new and innovative ways, share their knowledge and change behaviour to achieve sound environmental outcomes.
The Foundation provides a number of multi-year grants to organizations that are innovative in their proposals and their partnerships, welcoming collaboratives comprised of established organizations willing to share their expertise with smaller local groups. Organizations representing diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Francophone communities and non-traditional partnerships with the private sector, universities, colleges and governments are encouraged to consider this opportunity. Their goal is to strengthen the impact of organizations working on environment issues by enhancing leadership and building capacity. For more info visit www.trilliumfoundation.org
