WANTED: leftover exterior paint.

Help victims of graffiti by giving them your leftover exterior paint. Removing or painting over graffiti quickly is the best way to prevent it from happening again but it can get expensive if you have to do it repeatedly. Victims of graffiti can go to one of the City of Hamilton’s Community Recycling Centres and pick up a couple cans of paint for free from what we call our ‘reuse’ sheds. The sheds are open during the spring, summer and fall. We stock them with cans of paint that we think can be reused. Help victims of graffiti by dropping off your leftover exterior paint. Anyone who lives in Hamilton can take up to 40 liters (10 gallons) of leftover paint free of charge to a Community Recycling Centre. There are three of them located at: • 27 Olympic Drive in Dundas • 37 Kilbride Road in Hamilton (on the east mountain) • 460 Kenora Avenue in Hamilton (close to Stoney Creek) They’re open six days a week from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. but they’re closed on Sundays and all statutory holidays except Boxing Day. Hazardous waste can be harmful to our health and our environment so disposing of safely it is important. You can take all kinds of household hazardous waste like batteries, expired medications and syringes to a Community Recycling Centre. Check out www.hamilton.ca/waste for a really long list of what you can drop off.
